They Are Going To Start Selling Weed at Gas Stations Next Year

Gas stations are going to begin to sell weed. It is a major step in officially mainstreaming the weed business in Florida. With attitudes about weed softening and more people are accepting the useful benefits of weed, businesses are following suit to meet growing demand and a widening customer base in Florida.

Businesses dedicated to selling CBD and THC-free hemp products have already popped up throughout the State in the past few years, signaling a public attitude sh

ift, and a growing industry preparing for a future where legal changes can expand the industry more.

In 2023, Cannabis will be available in select few Circle K locations in Florida. Licensed marijuana products will be sold at 10 convenience stores. Circle K signed a deal with Green Thumb Industries to supply the product.

Green Thumb CEO Ben Kovler told Bloomberg that the deal will “continue to normalize marijuana by integrating it with regular consumer products. This is a futuristic deal.”

Medical marijuana has been legally available in the state of Florida since January 15, 2015 after the Compassionate Medical Cannabis Act of 2014 went into effect. Possession of weed with THC has yet to be decriminalized, those caught holding 20 grams or less can face prison time and fines, and possession of more than 20 grams is a felony. Florida is one of 19 states that

Imposes jail time on people for only simple possession of marijuana.

Florida lawmakers have filed several cannabis-related proposals for the 2022 legislative season. One proposal aims to reduce the penalty fee for possession from $1,000 down to as little as $50. Another proposal aims to completely decriminalize possession of 20 grams or less. Another proposal would legalize possession of up to 4 ounces of weed.
